Hey guys, I’m not a mountain biker before my trip. But, I took a mountain bike to achieve my cycling adventure in Asia. I take a road bike, instead of MTB. But, I am not really familiar with fixing disk brake. Luckily, I got a reference book. It is nice-organized. What the problem is I do not really understand the method of fixing. Perhaps, even if how vivid words they wrote, beginners may feel frustrated.
It's too late to learn!
Recently, I found a website, which provides video tutorial to fix the bike. I found it is a website.
And, it should be useful when we were biking. The site provide the mobile supported, which means we can put the video tutorial in mobile devices, like iphone, ipod,
windows mobile, black berry, nokia etc.
It does save our money. Imagine when you get stuck at home. You may bring the bikes to bike workshop. Then, we gotta spend time and bucks! After we learn it, we can even help our neighbors.
Plus, it provides the insightful updates posts, like tips for adjusting handle bar.
By the way, it actually is a online platform. But, you can download the vid, then put it on mobile device, iphone. SO, you can use it offline, to save data charge from phone.
My opinion is: Why didn’t i get it before my trip?

Tradtional Pedal
This is the traditional pedal. It is good for general commuting.
Pros: Good for SHORT distance commuting, because we can stand on at traffic light easily.
Cons: It is easy to dismount when high speed rotating. When we are pedaling fast, it would be easy to dismount. Then, you may probably get hurt.
If you want to ride faster, I do not advise you to use it.

Mountain Bike Clipless pedal
This is a pedal for mountain bike. It is clipless pedal, which means that the cyclist’s shoes would attach with pedal. Is it dangerous?
Pros: For the experienced cyclist, it is safe because they can release it whenever they want. And, when the cyclist pedals with a high rotation rate, it can ensure the pedal is attached. Also, it makes the cyclist spend less energy to ride, because of “fixed” position of pedal and shoes.
Cons: For the beginners, it may be less easier to release it. But there is a reference book can help you. I did it before my trip. I recommend it for cyclists.

Road Bike Clipless PEdal
This is the road bike clipless pedal. The function is same as mountain bike one. But, the mount and release method is different. If we want to mount on the pedal, we firstly need to pitch down the leg. Then, you may hear ” click” sounds. Then, it is mount safely. When you want to release it, you simply twist the foot. Here is the detail method to show you how you can release it.

Clip pedal
This had a “cage” for your foot. It is easy to plug it. But, it maybe dangerous if using on high tarffic condition.
Pros: Cheap
Cons: May High to dismount if sets to tight.
