Day 10

Meet a new friend

Destination: Hepu to Qingzhou

Duration: 6hours
Distance: 80KM

From Hepu to Qinzhou, the road condition is fine luckily. The only difference with Guangdong is less vehicles. Perhaps, the road is much narrower.
We saw many farms, with a large scale. However, in Guangdong, the farms are smaller. Besides, we saw more trees. And there are many timber factories.
20KM far to Qinzhau, we met a cyclist, Damjan, from East Euro. He has cycled around the world for a year. He is heading to Hong Kong. We chatted for almost an hour. We shared and provide much information. We think we should buy a lottery, because the chance of meeting cyclist should be less than five percent. Finally, I gave my friends email to him. Maybe, they can help him. The worst is we got opposite heading. Otherwise, we can ride together!

Later, we met a local cyclist, Wu at the roundabout. He is friendly. After he knew our plan, he invited us to visit the only cycling club at Qinzhou. It is actually situated inside the bike store at downtown. We shared our poster with the boss. Since Lyle’s helmet was broken by a car few days ago, we want to buy one. But, the price is expensive. He didn’t offer us a discount price. We negotiated with the boss; he eventually gave one with us for free! He said he couldn’t sell with below a standard price; otherwise, it broke the rule!

Then, we saw more cyclists came. Those are from local middle class income. We shared different culture in biking and life style. We met a girl cyclist. It is rare in both Hong Kong and China. She should have a pretty nice body. Her record was to ride over 200Km at a day only, round trip from Qinzhou to Beihau. She envied us because we can spend couples of month to ride! After chatted, they seem all want to come to Hong Kong. It seems Hong Kong has a pretty nice image. But, is it true?
They finally helped us to find a hotel with clothe washing machine, because we truly need it! Wu found one for us with a good price.
Today was a pretty cool day because we met many friends.
