My new friend from Africa
Because my bank account got a problem, luckily, we were in Hanoi. There are many international banks. Then, we went to HSBC to fix my account problem. We spent for an hour. But, eventually, we cannot fix the problem. The bank claims that it is the world’s local bank. But, now I truly think it is “local”! I have no idea why I cannot fix it. And, let me tell you what you should know. If the HSBC Vietnam helps me to call HSBC Hong Kong, I should pay USD14 for admission fee. I wondered if it is same bank or not. I really hate what the bureaucracy. It is really old fashion. But, the staff is really polite and friendly. Even though I couldn’t solve the problem, I felt, they did try their best to help me. Since we had spent a long time at bank, we then moved to have tea.

I thought it is really an international city in Asia. And, locals welcome to help us. When we arrived at the city center round about, we saw many historical French style buildings. Then, we saw plenty of luxury brand stores at there. I was thinking how rich the local are. But, honestly, there were less rich people in Vietnam. Owing to fixing my bank account, we didn’t have enough time to explore Hanoi. Therefore, we only looked around the street and go shopping.

We intended to find supermarket to buy sodas. Yet, we didn’t see any large supermarket. We walked around the street. We had walked for over 45 minutes. Nothing we found it, but except the clothes’ stores. I, then, went to a cloth shop. I want to buy a long shirt, because I overestimated how cool Hanoi is. I bought shirt. The store owners invited us to have some snacks. What did I think? I always say biking tour can make us always live at present. Let say, because of spent much time at bank, we didn’t follow our original plan. So, I met my new friend, Jean, at the cloth shop. We shared the contact together. She’s nice to bring me to visit Hanoi tomorrow.
Known from traveling guide books, I went to try the cheapest beers, BIA HOI, in the world at Hanoi. This beer is just cost VED3000, but it may be VED5000 next year because of higher government duty tax. The price is nothing for many Europeans and American.
By the way, the taste of Bia Hoi is really nice with this just 10 cents in Euro. You may find the Bia Hoi on the streets. You can probably find the Bia Hoi on Ma May Street, Hang Chinh Street Nguyen Sieu area. I only asked the hotel receptionist to guide us. All locals know where can find it!
